Arsenal to complete another striker loan move before deadline

As fans desperately scan their online news sources for ideas on the latest incoming signing, most of what’s dawning on them is of another Arsenal departure.

It’s all about the centre-forward, isn’t it?

The position that has been on everyone’s lips all winter has an increasingly narrow window of opportunity to reinforce, with precious little time for Arsenal to reserve a last-minute surprise.

Known for leaving their business late in the window, this time it will still be very late if new signings are to arrive. In the other direction, however, there were no such problems.

Arsenal are set to complete another striker loan move before the deadline with Niklaj Moller set to join Dutch side FC Den Bosch until the end of the season

A number of young talents have bid farewell to North London this summer with varying degrees of success. Many academy players struggled for minutes in their temporary homes, prompting Arsenal to recall a number.

One of them was Nikolaj Moller, the Swedish striker dubbed ‘the new Zlatan’, whose loan to German third division club FC Viktoria Koln did not go as hoped. With Moller still scoring three goals in 13 appearances, minutes were hard to come by and he was brought back to London Colney this month.

Chris Wheatley reports that a new club has been found for him, with the 19-year-old set to join Dutch side FC Den Bosch until the end of the season. The club, which are part of Dutch football’s second tier, currently sit 14th in the Eerste Divisie table, just six points above the relegation zone after playing two games more than 18th-placed Helmond Sport.

Thought Moller could replace Folarin Balogun in Kevin Betsy’s U23 squad, it instead looks like the team will see out the season with Mika Biereth and Khayon Edwards as options.

Moller joins Tyreece John-Jules in being recalled before returning on loan, with the other striker linking up with Darren Moore at Sheffield on Wednesday. Another recalled player, Miguel Azeez, has yet to find a new team this month.

He’s also not the only striker on loan outside the club, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang set to seal a temporary move to Barcelona until the end of the season. Many strikers are leaving, none seem to be heading the other way.
