The Bank of Ghana has taken note of a report circulating on social media regarding recent dismissals from the Bank of Ghana.

The statement circulating on social media is twisted to misinform the general public. It is not true that 90% of newly recruited staff presented false certificates.

The incident referred to involves two (2) staff members whose appointments were terminated for providing false certificates as part of their employment documents.

As part of the due diligence processes during and after recruitment, those who have submitted false documents (including academic and professional certificates) are either removed from the recruitment process or their services are terminated if they are already onboarded and during the trial period.

The Bank of Ghana would like to clarify that dismissals are a regular human resource management function for staff whose conduct is unsatisfactory or has committed an offense as stipulated in the Bank’s Human Resource Policy Manual.
