Kotak Bank became the first scheduled private sector bank to be approved as a tax collection partner in October 2021, following the announcement allowing all banks to engage in government operations.

It is one of the first private banks to be fully integrated into the new Income Tax Service portal, which has merged with the new electronic tax filing system.
